Let the good times roll....

Ahhhh...the freedom of school being out for the summer...

Even though we pack a lot into our summers and we're pretty busy, there's just something about not having to make those school lunches and be out the door by 8:05 am day after day with completed homework in hand. We're def big fans of summer holidays around here!

Thursday, June 27 was the last day this year...

Someone was super pumped when he got home!

Teacher gifts all ready to go...
Max had three different teachers this year. He wrote really nice little thankyou notes to each of them and we tucked them in a gift bag with some Baden Coffee treats and a Timmies GC.

I always love going through his "stuff" at the end of the year. His pencil crayons appear to be in excellent shape. Do not be fooled. That was his second batch...he wore the others down to nothing by March Break. The smelly markers were not functioning anymore...only the scents.  It appears the scissors had a hard year. And a surprise little collection of pencil toppers...hmmm. Not sure what that's about.

His art folder had lots of goodies!! I was impressed with the detail on the folder itself...

Report Cards came home on Monday already. Most important thing to see...promoted to grade 5. Big smiles! :)

A quick comparison to the beginning of the school year...

After Max got home from school we raced over to the farm. Miss Vanessa is graduating from grade 12  this year and prom was that very night. Ohhhhh prom. dee dom. dee dom. Such a big deal! A huge milestone. It's like the prelude to a wedding. I was to meet Zezza at the farm for some quick pics (with her uncooperative 4H calf) before she was heading out to the festivities.

Mr. Wyatt was marching around. Not at all interested in getting his photo taken until I mentioned I would like to take a photo of his root beer....then he was all game.

And he politely offered Max a root beer as well. And then they got all silly doing "cheers" which turned into loud "cheerio's"!

More prom photos to follow. for sure. :)
