Mexico

Mayan Riviera, Mexico
May 10 - 17, 2013
Barcelo Maya Beach Resort/Tropical
Keith + Patti + Max

This was our third trip back to the Barcelo in the past three years. We really love this resort. No complaints whatsoever! :)

Vacation booked online through itravel2000.com.  Weather was gorgeous....not a speck of rain the entire time we were there. Temps ranged in the 36 degree area + humidity. It was HOT!

We did one off resort excursion - 1/2 day in Puerto Aventuras - Swimming with the Dolphins. Pictures from that will be in a later post.

Max and Keith tried out a little scuba diving lesson in the pool...

Lots of activities to do besides swimming in the pool and on the beach...

The pools are so beautiful at night. I want to go night swimming one of these times...haven't gotten around to it yet...

The food....oh the food. One word. YUM!!!
We ate lunch at the beachside grills every day...

Best salsa and guac ever!

Breakfasts were amazing. All the fresh fruit we could handle, and then some.
I love that mango yogurt. I hunt it down each time I'm there. The watermelon and pineapple are so sweet even if they don't look overly red/yellow. The little pastries with coconut...Mmmmmmm! Max discovered how delicious the plums were and got me hooked on them too.

Someone found a new way to keep occupied at meals....figuring out all the different fancy ways they fold the dinner napkins....

Keith and Max ordered octopus for an appetizer at the Seafood A la Carte restaurant.
Oh man. I can't really look at this photo. They both loved it. But oh my.

At the a la carte restaurants I always ask what they recommend when it's dessert time. I have never been disappointed. We have some favourites....the Lemon Tart at the Italian Restaurant...the apple pie at the Santa Fe Steakhouse and the chocolate dessert (below) at the seafood restaurant. It doesn't look very fancy but it's ooey gooey chocolate inside. DIVINE!

The Barcy Club (for kids) has different activities every hour. Max thought they were too babyish so he didn't go until the last day. They had stuff he was interested in....water polo, diving for marbles and beach soccer. He loved it!

A new favourite drink for him....The "Mickey Mouse"!

A Mariachi Band heading to a wedding....

Mothers Day....  :)

The Kyoto Japanese a la carte Restaurant...

The week went by in a flash. Over way too fast. Fabulous time and fantastic memories made. :)
