Lots of prep work in the kitchen...salads...lasagna...desserts.
Max's Christmas ornament this year...
He wanted a "running" ornament because he ran his first two races this year. Found a little ornament kiosk at Conestoga Mall which offered personalization. :)
...must be Christmas Eve...the chocolate calendar is empty!
Max gave me this handpainted snowman candleholder he made at school. He was too excited about it to wait until Christmas morning to give it to me.
"Beary Bear"
He makes an appearance every Christmas.
LeeAnne stopped by mid-morning. Keith and I had some fun with her. While she was downstairs playing mini-sticks with Max, we added reindeer antlers and rudolphs nose to the front of her car. It had the desired effect we hoped...a typical LeeAnne sized-shriek!
Christmas cards arriving in the mail...one of my most favourite things.
Another special friend...
This little bear recites "Twas the Night Before Christmas" when you press his paw. The past few years he had dead batteries. This year we replaced his batteries. It was fun to have him back again.
(That snowflake garland above is my favourite. Made my Max. I think it will stick around all winter long.)
Lets not talk about the tree. It is not my favourite.
A box of fun Christmas cards I found at the dollar store. Perfect for Max's hockey coaches and little friends. :)
One present gets opened on Christmas Eve...
It is always the same thing. "Clothing" as Max calls it. "New Christmas PJ's as his parents call it."
Christmas Us
All ready to head over to the Gerbers for dinner and then to church for the Christmas Eve service.
Homemade pizza and salads on Christmas Eve at my parents...
It's been a tradition since...FOREVER. Mmmmmm!
Outdoor Christmas light scavenger hunt...
This year we never did fit in a hot chocolate Christmas drive around town to look at all the beautiful Christmas lights. To make up for it, I found this little scavenger hunt on pinterest for us to do on the 30 minute drive to my parents on Christmas Eve. We did pretty good considering. The best part is, we found "Snoopy" which we thought impossible, right around the corner from our house - helps to take a different route through our subdivision.
Christmas Eve - the stockings were hung...
Max made this stocking in grade two. It's the one he wants to use. His personalized Pottery Barn stocking which is twice the size? Nope. He likes this one. To tell you the truth, I like it better too!
