Tis the season.....for outdoor decorating!

This year, I'm not feeling very festive and Christmasy. However, I'm smart enough to know that when we hit a stretch of days where the weather is warm and sunny, you decorate outdoors whether you're feeling the Christmas mood or not. This past Saturday, Keith hung up the outdoor lights. Yesterday, I grudgingly tackled the front porch urns.

I had picked up two cheaply priced greenery urns at Lowes a few days earlier. They really weren't very spectacular looking. But the price was decent. And I knew I'd be ripping them apart anyway, to add birch (which I saved from last year) some glittery sprigs and a bow, etc.

The urn on the right is the original pot from Lowes. Rather skimpy and unimpressive...

The end result when everything was put back together...

I wasn't happy with them. So I drove over to Colour Paradise and picked up a couple of bundles of greenery. And oh my...was it ever worth it....

Lovely big long drapping cedars and some soft tall spruce branches....straight from beautiful BC. That sold me on the spot. ;) The soft pine fragrence is amazing and I can smell it when I stand on our front porch. Mmmmmmm....

DONE. The pots are considerably more substantial. But now... I noticed that front door wreath looks a bit underwhelming. There is always something. ;)
