Round-up....

This is a round-up of a bunch of hodge-podge from the last week-or-so....

Vanessa's birthday was on May 30th.

Eighteen.

A grownup? Kinda. Getting there. :)

Continued the tradition of Sunday breakfast at LeeAnne's house before church...

Funniest thing happened. Seems LeeAnne slept in. She was awakened by her guests knocking on the front door! Good thing she had gotten things ready the night before. ;) Still....  she may have been a bit of a hot mess racing around her kitchen frantically trying to make coffee and get things ready....

We even caught glimpses of her in the back yard snipping flowers to go on the table...

The delay in eating provided the birthday girl with ample time to primp and preen...

Ahhhh....here we go. Finally ready!

The buns were delish. I must say. The coffee? Oh my! What a saga. And when you desperately need a caffine jolt in the morning and it's not able to be produced. Well....it was a morning to remember! We all are hoping the hostess invests in a backup coffee maker soon to prevent future episodes!

Saturday evening (June 1) Keith, Max and I had Gerry, Magda and Guille over for dinner. It was Guille's 13th birthday!!  A great and fun evening!

This is the time of year activities start wrapping up. It's nice to have the breather. Not just activities, but school things as well. Like weekly homework and spelling tests and Dreambox Math Tutoring.  We're done for the year. Yay and hallellujah! Piano Lessons are also one of those things. Sunday evening (June 2) was Max's yearend recital. It's held at Trinity Lutheran here in town (a beautiful church) and afterwards everyone brings snacks to enjoy. I love going! :) Max played "In my Red Convertible" this time.

After the recital, Max went back for one more lesson last week to wrap things up for the summer holidays.

Swimming lessons were also finished last week!

Soccer is something that is just starting up and so much fun in the summer. Max is on the black team and his friend Isaiah is on the white team. They look like the ying yang symbol! :)

The weather sure hasn't been the greatest for their games. Last Thursday night was no exception. Rainy and cool. But "The Men In Black" didn't let it stop them and Max's team won against Wellesley 5-4. Max scored a hat trick!

This past Thursday was track and field day at school. Very exciting....grade 4 is the first year Max could participate. He came home with a 4th and a 6th. Unfortunately he can't remember which races they were for exactly. Considering he was competing against grade 5 and 6's, we think he did very good!
I finally got around to picking up my camera which I had left at my parents house, so hopefully the quality of photos will be a bit better from now on. iphone is ok in a pinch. But only a pinch!
