Happy Birthday Keith

September is one of the busiest, most hectic months of the year for us. With two birthday's to celebrate, the start of school, hockey try-outs, Keith being busy with work functions (including an annual convention in Vegas) piano lessons, myself hosting an Epicure party and all the other things that need attention....it's just crazyness. The month of June is a close tie. And possibly December. But I still say September is the craziest. Today is October 1st and I rejoice! Things should now hopefully settle down to regular routines/schedules and everyday life.  :)

Last Sunday, September 23rd was Keith's birthday. Number thirty-nine.  A big one, before the BIG one!

At this season and time in our life, it seems like both our birthdays just get squeezed in amongst all the other busy activities that are going on. And that's quite ok. (Who likes to be reminded of the fact that they're growing older anyway?!) Max and I woke up a bit earlier than usual and served the birthday boy breakfast in bed. (Saturday afternoon I had the foresight to zip over to Sobey's and pick up a tiny little cake for this exact reason.) Cake for breakfast? Yes please!

After church, we had lunch at our place. My mama had been working at the IPM all week long and so I invited them over for dinner to give her a break from hosting us all. Crockpot Lasagna. Garlic Bread. Spinach Salad with Pears. Simple and easy.

Untraditional Birthday Cake was served. I made a pan of Cherry Cheesecake (Keith's fav) and a Pumpkin Fluff pie.

After dinner, we all piled into cars and headed over to the WRC to watch Max's hockey game against Hespler. Doesn't he look all cute and excited (wearing his team uniform for games - navy jacket, khaki pants and brown shoes) as we head to hockey? He was thrilled to have grandpa and grandma and the aunties come and cheer his team on.
The Huskies won the game 4-0 and Max scored the fourth goal (a happy birthday present for his daddy!) At their season opener game on Saturday afternoon against Acton, they lost 4-1.

By the time we got back home, it was the early evening and we were more than content to curl up and relax at home. And enjoy cake of course. Always some cake! :)
Happy Birthday to the Keithster! :) For the next three months, I am quite officially married to an older man, a much much much older man! :)
