The third week of July (16th - 20th), Max went to Uturn Ranch (Day Camp) located outside of Tavistock. We carpooled with the Batte's and the Siewert's. Max would leave the house around 7:30am each morning and I would pick up the boys at 5:00pm each night. A big, long, fun-filled day, makes for tired, worn-out boys at night!
(face painting the first day....Max's team was called the "Purple Pancakes".)
Each day, the kids were kept busy with horseback riding, archery, slingshots, frogging & fishing, swimming, singing, pony express mail, group games (steal the bacon, 6 cities & 5 robbers, etc), "under the tree" sessions and arts & crafts. On the last day, Ethan and Max took me around the camp to show me their favourite spots and things to do. Without a doubt, the frogging pond is a favourite:
(I just loooooove big old trees. Especially when they have hollows and holes in them.)
The covered wagons are where the overnight campers sleep during the week.
Giving Lenny a final brushing before we left.
The barn swing is fun...
After we dropped Ethan off at home on the last day, Max and I swung by Scott Park. I needed to scope out some spots for a photoshoot that night. Max loved climbing the trees. Again...more big old trees. Looooove!
